Marion,

To file for divorce in Kentucky, you must have lived in that state for more than six months. This article will provide you with more information:

If you are in the military stationed in NC, but in Kentucky where do you file for divorce? I know the waiting period in NC is 1 yr separation, what is it in Kentucky.

Christine,

I can understand that you are feeling guilty about your behavior during your marriage. I would suggest that you go to a counselor to sort out your feelings about your marriage and why it broke down. I would also suggest that you consult an attorney who can advise you about whether you should take steps to legally end your marriage.

All states have provisions for no fault divorce. This means that the fact the marriage broke down is legal grounds for divore. Your (or your husband's) behavior during the marriage is not a consideration when determining how the marital property should be divided. The people telling you that you were "the bad one" and therefore you are entitled to nothing are mistaken.

I am so confused.I don't know if it is worth it to go through with the divorce. We have been seperated9not legally) for two yrs.I just picked up and didn't come back .So I know that's desertion,to make things even worse I'm a recovering alcoholic(sober 2yrs).I have had extra marital affairs but ,he never caught me,but I'm sure he knows. Our marriage sucked for 15 yrs.NO intimacy(his call)we didn't eat dinner in the same room.He stayed in his den with tv's and music.I know he has stocks and bonds and all that and he retired from kodak. Our house (which he lives in is in both of our names. His insurance takes care of my medical and dental.Everyone is saying since I was the (BAD ONE) that I am not intitled to anything. Is that true? if it is I may as well stay married at least I get the insurance. I'm confused!
