NEED FORM INFO FOR STATE OF FLORIDA. After 25+ yrs of marriage, my husband and I have decided to move on. It's amicable and we will file on our own. Our children are adults, and we've come to agreements regarding bank accounts, house, loans, 401K's, savings....all good. Can you list all the forms by number I might need to print off. And when filled out signed & notarized...do we submit all forms at same time? Thank you.

Carmen,

You have been through a lot and I can understand that you are angry with your husband. If you can't afford an attorney, you may be able to get help from legal aid or a community legal clinic. If there is a law school near where you live, call to ask whether it operates one. You can also do the paperwork yourself if you feel competent to do so.

Drew,

I would suggest that you contact the Court Clerk's office where you filed for divorce to ask whether you can file a Affidavit of Indigence. You may be divorced in three or four months as long as the proceeding goes smoothly.

I recently moved to TX but had started the divorce paperwork while I lived in FL. It is a simplified divorce and we (myself and ex spouse) are not contesting ANYTHING.

I am not working now and I will not be able to travel to FL for any hearings. I do not plan to object anything and just want to get the matter resolved quickly.

My question is can I ask for a fee waiver for the fees associated with the divorce and how long will it take to be finalized?

Victoria,

You may be awarded alimony if you are unable to work because of your bipolar disorder. However, having this type of mental illness isn't necessarily a permanent barrier to being able to hold down a job. I hope you are having your medications monitored regularly to make sure you are taking the right dosage. Ask your doctor whether you are considered employable at this point; if you are, you may be awarded alimony until you are able to find work or can complete a job training program.

I have been married for 5 years. During the marriage, I have not worked. My husband was discharge from the Navy due to his drinking and continues to drink heavily. I have bipolar disorder which he knew before we got married and in the last year I have had to increase my medication because of the "rollerscoaster ride" he has had me on. What would be my chances of recieving alimony?

my nightmare! I am divorcing and the trial judge is a retired judge who heard our case because our judge threw our case out because of overload. this judge refused to award retro child support when my ex makes 80k+ and i make 18k+ a year. He never sees the kids and I had thought and assured by 2 previous judges not to worry about child support that it would be corrected at the final hearing. The retired judge threw out our court reporter when he rendered his final decision and upon appeal denied doing so...instead stated he only made a suggestion. How can i get a new hearing!
