Nathan,

Is there a provision in the child support order or divorce judgment requiring you to turn over this information? If so, you need to do so. I would also suggest that you consult with an attorney who specializes in divorce to answer your questions.

Unfortunately my lawyer has been wrong many times in the past. He does not specialize in divorce (long story). Have you heard of states requiring this (that the father supplies copies of his tax return info/earnings every year?

Nathan,

If your lawyer has told you that you need to provide this information, then you need to do so.

Sorry, last question was fragmented. Her lawyer asked for my tax return/income numbers/information to be sent to her.

I am now paying child support. However my wifes lawyer asked for my return information every year until our children are 18. Is this standard, i said I did not want to and my lawyer told me I had no option. This is an Illinois case if that matters.

Hi New Spouse:

Your new spouse's income "shouldn't" be included in any calculations for child support but a licensed attorney will be able to clear up any questions about the laws in your State for you.

i am divorced and pay child support. i am now remarried and my new spouse does not work. if my new spouse goes to work, will her income be included with mine and can my ex petition to have my support payments increased due to my spouse's new added income?

Skip,

You would file for divorce in the state where you are living. Since you have been living in Illinois for more than 90 days, you have met the residency requirement for filing for divorce in that state. The court clerk's office will arrange for your wife to be served with the papers where she lives.

I have been a resident of Illinois since August, 2007. I previously lived in Arizona. I married my spouse in July of 2004, moved back to Illinois in August 2007. She still resides in AZ. and I am seeking a divorce. With me living in Illinois and her in AZ, what are the legalities involved in were and how I file? There are no children involved, and I'm not looking for settlements on my behalf through this divorce.

Lashawnda,

This article in How To File for Divorce will answer some of your questions: http://divorce.lovetoknow.com/How_to_File_for_Divorce

The cost to divorce will depend on whether you can agree about issues surrounding support, child custody, child support, and marital assets or if a judge has to determine them. Please consult with an attorney who can advise you about your situation.

Hello, I've been married for 6 years and it has been a rocky road. My husband is 11 years older than me and I have been the one financially taking care of our family. I'm currently working and going to school and taking care of three children. Only of kids is by my daughter. My husband isnot working and hasn't kept a steady job. We are currently seperated and has been for 6 months now. He has had a drug addiction for many years but claims he has been clean for a few months now. I no longer can afford to take care of him and his needs and want a divorce. We got married in Vegas. I have a couple of questions... What steps do I take to get a divorce? How much does it cost? would I have to pay him alimony? I have pay all the bills, paid the rent, have supported and tooken care of two of his other kids for three years. I've done everything, now my health is starting to decrease. He do not want to agree with the divorce but mentioned that he will get alimony from me since I'm working and he is not. Is that possible? If you can please reply back to my questions. Thank you in advance.
