Donna,
You can get help collecting unpaid child support from a private support collection agency. There is no fee unless they recover money for you.

-- Contributed by: JCRedmondAlthough my ex-husband has a court order to pay child support, he has not complied and the support enforcement agency in California is not doing anything about it either. He currently owes more than $13,000.00, what should I do next? How can I get him on a deadbead dad's list?

Please contact the child support enforcement agency for your state to get help.

If you have an order granting you visitation rights, you can take steps to enforce it. Please consult an attorney for advice.

Good point. Not all parents who are in arrears on their child support payments are men.

-- Contributed by: CymricAnother Deadbeat,
I appreciate where you are coming from on this issue. If there has been a change in your financial situation since the support was made, you can bring a motion to vary the original order. If you can't afford a lawyer, contact Legal Aid or a local community legal clinic for help.

-- Contributed by: JCRedmondWhat about inability to pay? This says "work with the system" hahahahahahaha I have been paying. There is supposed to be a limit to the amount Garnished from your wages. I earn 42000 a year and thanks to the system "working with me" I now bring home 14000 a year. Oh did I mention the woman getting the money leaves our child with her parents every day. She goes on 5 inernational vacations a year without him. Her income is twice mine without the support. Thanks to the "System" my children that live at home with me are living on ramen noodles and facing eviction from our home while she enjoys her new 2500 sqare foot home and drives a new cadillac. Since she lives in another country and I live in the US I am not aloud to see him due to this "Deadbeat Dad" label I have. I was out of work due to a back injury that landed me in the hospital for 6 months. My passport has been revoked for lack of child support payment. Hmmmmm almost makes a guy want to run. I am not saying it's right for a man to not accept his responsibilities I am just saying to blanket every man not paying child support with a deadbeat label is WRONG. Of course All the state had to say was I should have been paying. All I have to say is the state the woman and the office of child support can all kiss my ass. When the the state makes HER bring him to me so I can see him and he understands that his REAL dad loves him instead of her lay for the week telling him that I am just a deadbeat that abandoned him. Then and only then will I apologize.

If your daughter's father is not making his payments, go to the child support enforcement agency in the state where the order was issued for help.

Your state's child support enforcement agency should be able to help you get your ex's name on the Deadbeat Dad List.

I am tired of the lies and the no job issue, but yet he works (probably for cash). What can I do?
-- Contributed by: I am fed upMy ex's mother knows where he is and will not assist to help her granddaughter to have a good life, with no worries.
-- Contributed by: LaTasha GaynorL,
Your question isn't weird at all. A private investigator may be able to help you. You would have to provide his full name, date of birth, last known address, etc., when you hire someone.

-- Contributed by: JCRedmondHello, I know this sounds strange but I wish to find my father--guess you could call him a deadbeat dad lol. I don't want his money (nor does my mother), just want to find him. Any ideas where to start (without getting scammed)? He disappeared 25 years ago. Thank you
-- Contributed by: LStacy,
I can understand that you are very frustrated about this situation. Please consult with a lawyer and ask how you would start enforcement proceedings against your former husband.

-- Contributed by: JCRedmondI have found my daughters dad everytime he has tried to disappear. Still nothing! He owes almost 50,000. and I have 3 1/2 more years until she is 18! I have written letters to everyone! No one cares! They judge a couple years ago let him out for 1 months support! $335.00 and he walked away! I wanted to the judge to justify this action to my daughter but I was told to leave it alone. UGH! I am frustrated and want him to pay. He rents houses for $2,400 a month but can't pay for his daughter! HELP please!
-- Contributed by: StaceyOne ex owes me over $17,000 and the other ex owes me over $52,000. Both cases have been registered with CSE since day one, and still nothing. They find them, and let them go. What more can I do?

-- Contributed by: andreaI would like to put my ex husband on the dead beat dad list. He owes over 20000.00 in back child support and has skipped the state in order not to pay child support
-- Contributed by: alice estes hallI havent had a single payment in childsupport besides the Irs return. I am now working with Support Collectors, a private child support agency.
-- Contributed by: InaMy X owes $47,000, our son is almost 17, I have provided his address to the Virginia Beach Police as there are 2 warrants out for his arrest but they can't seem to find the house. I contacted the US attourney's' office here in Idaho where I live and was advised that NOONE has been successfuly prosecuted under the Dead Beat Parents Punishment Act since it was enacted by President Clinton. The state of Virginia doesn't even have him listed in the most wanted support evaders even though he owes 3 times more that some of the people they do have listed. It is time for child support enforcement departments to be held accountable because I had an active case for 10 years and I had to go out on my own to get a review filed and get it in front of the judge, I had to write 2 govenors and make noise to get my support increased from $60 a month that was issued in 1992 when he was in jail to $500 because he was earning $1500 a week as a longshoreman. I had to do all the work the system failed me and my son and continues to do so.14308
